Tip #1- Starting your Park
- When you first begin a park, try to put the food stalls in one area. Place benches near the food stalls too.
- Don't change the price of the attractions. The default price will attract more guests longer. You also don't want to waste time trying to stay on top of changing the prices once you get a lot of guests into your park. You'll have enough to stay on top of!
- Start with gentle and thrill rides, wait until you can build up some cash and go for the big boys! Start small, you'll have ample opportunity to expand.
- If you have a large park with lots of paths, place "No Entry" banners appropriately to block off the areas where there are no attractions. This keeps guests from wandering too far, littering the place, and possibly getting lost.
- Get rid of any unwanted/unneccessary scenery and footpaths. This will get you some additional funds.
- Try to save your loan for when you really need it. The things you will need your loan for: When you drop too far below a negative in your cash, to pad for the bigger rides, any development you may need to do.
- Only hire the workers you need. For more on this, see the 'Hiring Workers' tip.
Tip #2- Hiring Workers
- When hiring workers, only hire those you absolutely need. Handymen, Mechanics, and Security are the most important. If you have any spare cash you can hire an Entertainer or two, but don't waste your loan on them.
- Take full advantage of assigning. After you hire a new employee, click on the button that has little blue footprints.
- The following is a good guideline for the employees and space to assign:
- Handymen- 3-5 assignment groups in length. Assignment groups are the group of blue squares when you assign an area. It's also a good habit to hire 1-2 Handymen who don't have an assigned area.
- Mechanics- No more than one for every 3-4 rides, depending on how close your rides are together.
- Security- Security can have an 8-12 group area to patrol. Again, it's a good habit to assign 2-5 security who aren't assigned to a particular area.
- As the game goes on, keep an eye on your paths, benches and litter bins. A broken bench or tipped over litter bin is a good sign that you have vandals in your park. This is why I suggest 3-5 Security who aren't assigned to an area. If you notice your paths are getting dirty, instead of trying to pinpoint the Handyman assigned to that area (this can get tricky the more guests you have in your park), just look for the one's who aren't assigned (in the Handyman window) and place an unassigned handyman on the path that is dirty.
Tip #3- Increasing your Numbers
- Advertise! Advertise! Advertise! You can't do too much advertising as long as you watch your cash. Only do each of your advertising for 2 weeks.
The following are the recommended advertising campaigns in the order that I have found work the best (the prices are per two weeks):
- Advertising for the park- $700
- Half Priced entry- $100
- Advertising a specific ride- $400
- Free food or drink- $100
Free entry to the park should only be used if you need guests badly
Free rides on a particular ride only works if the park is set up as free entry and paid rides. ;)
Tip #4- Running your Park
- Remember to start off small.
- Advertise!
- Keep checking the state of your paths, benches, etc.
- Block off any area that doesn't need to be used right now. Keep moving the banners back when you add more rides/attractions.
- Hire new workers as needed.
- Have fun! The whole reason for creating the games was for people like us to just have fun with it. :)
